Upon receipt, engines are thoroughly cleaned using a multi-step process. Once stripped, all the components are placed in a specially designed, high temperature, baking oven. With temperatures inside the oven exceeding 650°F, all traces of sludge, grease and scale are burnt off. This process ensures that all inaccessible areas, such as oil passages and galleys, are spotlessly clean. Due to the very high temperatures at which the oven operates, all unwanted deposits are burned off and converted into harmless ashes. These are non-toxic and environmentally friendly. The next stage involves shot blasting, which is then followed by high-pressure steam cleaning. This multi-step process guarantees that all foreign and unwanted particles are removed before any machining is preformed.
