Cylinder Head Work

All cylinder heads and blocks are pressure tested utilizing the latest hydraulic/pneumatic methods in pressure testing equipment before any work is commenced. Each unit is mounted on the pressure tester and then heated to its ideal operating temperature. Air, at between 2 and 3 Psi, is then injected into the unit’s galleys and passages. This procedure pinpoints any problems immediately, allowing remedial action to be taken. We scrap all units found to be too severely warped or damaged.

Cylinder heads, whether they are cast iron or aluminium, that require any machining are all done on our state-of-the-art machinery. All valve seat angles are cut precisely to OEM specifications. Any valve seats or valve guides not passing our tests are replaced. We have an extensive range of valve guides in stock, catering for small petrol engines right through to large diesels.
